Ad Hoc by Organic Pulse Ensemble, aka Gustav Horneij, was recorded on a TASCAM Portastudio—the first compact cassette recorder that marked the beginning of home recording and its evolution. This back-to-the-roots, risk-taking, one-take minimalistic approach captures the essence of the lo-fi home recording process and the spirit of jazz music. It truly highlights Gustav Horneij's talent and compositional skills, compelling you to groove along.

This album bristles with ideas and melodies that you can find rattling around your head, as you catch yourself humming along. It possesses the ability to surpass the now and live in and out of time, reflecting the timeless nature of improvised music.

Drawing on a shared love of conceptual art, the record sleeves, designed by Arsi Keva, were hand screenprinted on recycled LP cardboard, making each cover unique in colour and enhancing the rawness that complements the recording approach.
